Kidney-shaped petals
One of the members of the car club that I join requested me to make a card for his new (girl)friend..He wanted to have a butterfly and and flowers on the card with a short note on it..

And this is what I came out with..

At first, I didn't know what type of flower I wanted to put on the card..However, as I was playing around with the paper strips, the idea of making these petals popped out..The petals look like a kidney, so that's how it gets its name (^__^) This kidney-shaped technique was presented earlier in the butterfly that I had created..I just turned it into petals and it works..

In order to make these petals, you only have to curl your strips and make them look like a kidney..Once they're ready, you can attach them together to form a flower..

So long and goodbye
This is the quickest card that I've ever made - Approximately 1/2 hour..
Therefore, some defects are expected..
One of our colleagues is leaving..To further her study to be exact..
So I made this card to wish her the best of luck in her study..
The wordings match perfectly with the quilled items - Thanks to Pam Thorburn
(Designer of Simply Cards & Papercraft) for the inspiration..
She's leaving..

Book review 2012
Book review session is a monthly event held by the Academy of Language Studies in our university..It was a great success last year and all book reviewers received an exclusive bookmark..This year, the event is continued and this is what the reviewer will get for making a review of book that they've read..
Don't get carry away with the picture of the cat (^__~)

Nothing special about this..Created the butterfly to fit the quote (A book is like a garden carried in the pocket - Chinese proverb)..

Some of the bookmarks that had been made..Hope to spread the love for reading..
More frame
I made this for my niece..Her mom wanted to have butterfly and heart like the one that I made before..It's just that she would like to have it framed with pink and black theme..So, here it is..

To ensure that it's different from my previous creation, I made some changes to the butterfly and the heart so they won't look the same..

At first, there were only the butterfly and the heart..However, the frame looked somewhat empty, so I decided to include the typography..My niece's name is Anis Batrisya and that explains the 'A' and 'B' as they are the initials of her name..

Sweet Leaves Blog Hop
I was extremely busy this week that I only realised the blog hop was two days to go when one of the Malaysian quillers, (Kak) Lin asked me about it. I love the theme - LEAVES! This theme fits the "2011 Environment Week" that will be held in our university in two weeks time.
For this project, I just used simple leaf techniques. My attention was to make the leaves as the main attraction and to spread the message - Love our greenery. Making cards require us to use a lot of papers, so I'll ensure that I make full use of everything. I keep all unwanted papers and send them to the recycling centre (Thanks to my mom for this habit)..It's the least I can do to help the mother earth..
Anyway, back to the real deal..There are 22 quillers from 6 different continents that participate in this blog hop..You can see all quillers in the list provided at the bottom of this entry..Then you can start hopping from one blog to another..This is what I came out with for this blog hop..
I made some modification to the picture frame and add some cardboards to create the effect..My apology for the reflection of myself on the mirror (Couldn't avoid that)..
The flower that I have here was made prior to the one that I had before..
I just had nothing for the background as I wanted the colour to pop out..
There are many layers involved..
Notice the stand for the small leaf? There's another one under the flower..That's the trick..
These two make good companions to the leaves..
Hope they look like leaves to you (>__<)
Thank you for hopping by here and also million thanks to Sandra for hosting this blog hop..Your next stop for this blog hop is "Daydreams" by Suganthi..She has shared a lot of information and techniques on quilling..What's best about her is she shares some techniques that only require you to use the things that you have around you (If you don't have the specific tools)..

Another butterfly
I recently received my book royalty from the publisher..Therefore, I made this card to thank a person who gave me a chance to come out with the book..I used to have little birds to send out messages, but now the task was handed to the butterfly as I want the birdies to rest for a while (^__^)

Love is in the air
I made this for the The Emirates Quilling Guild (EQG) October theme - Black, Gray and Pink..However, we can pick any two of the colours suggested..And since I don't have gray any papers, I decided to use pink and black..
